BIOFEEDBACK FOR TROUBLED YOUTH GRAND ROUNDS

Date: Thursday, November 10, 2011
Time: 09:00 to 10:00 Eastern Time (US & Canada)
Session Leader: Linda Walker

In this session, to be recorded live from Michigan on November 10,2011, session leader Linda Walker, presents two case studies. The first describes a fifteen year old boy involved in gang activity and drug experimentation. Treatment included breathing exercises using heart rate variability, a breath pacer, skin conductance and temperature training. The second case described a thirteen year old girl living with an adoptive family. Evaluations show the girl experienced significant learning issues. Treatment for both cases included biofeedback modalities combined with other interventions. At the end of the grand rounds, participants will be able to identify one measure of biofeedback and recognize the use and benefit of combining neurofeedback with biofeedback .
